LIBOR sponsors new room at McDonald House

The Long Island Board of Realtors (LIBOR) raised more than $35,000 for the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island to sponsor a room in the new wing at the House. “This is the second room that LIBOR, a non-profit trade association consisting of more than 29,000 real estate professionals, has sponsored at the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island,” said Gil Picard, president of LIBOR.
The realtor support is part of LIBOR’s ongoing philanthropic program titled “We’re More Than Realtors.” Realtors from Queens, Nassau and Suffolk Counties joined to raise the funds and were on hand at the House “Lights of Love” celebration during the holiday season to commemorate the donation.
Buddy Hoosein, vice president of the Queens Chapter of LIBOR added, “LIBOR is much more than a professional organization; we are a community that seeks to help make a difference in the neighborhoods where we do business.”
Stacie Rodriguez, president of The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island said that they recently initiated a capital campaign to double the size of the facility so that no family will ever have to be turned away.
“The generous contribution by LIBOR helps us to meet our goal by providing a comfortable and supportive environment that helps families through their most difficult time,” she said.
