“There just weren’t any modern office buildings in Middle Village and Glendale and renting office space on the street gives you the worst of both worlds,” Michael Mauro, attorney and owner of The Law Offices of Michael Mauro and Contempo Realtor Services said.
Mauro is one of the first five local businesses to relocate to The Offices at Market Plaza in The Shops at Atlas Park.
After almost 20 years of operating his two businesses in separate locations, Mauro is consolidating and is delighted to have found The Offices at Market Plaza where he can also grow his business with room to add three or four new sales people.
“This way I can focus on my business, I don’t have to be worrying about if there’s leaky roof or whether the landlord has plowed the sidewalk,” Mauro said after years of renting retail space at street level. “The building was there long before we were born, but it has been completely renovated, is totally modern and maintained by a professional real estate management company,” he said.
Other new tenants include Bellido Insurance Brokerage, All State Insurance, The Law offices of Henry Ramirez, and Car Italy and Tours. All five tenants are located on the third floor, and together with a 2,000 square feet community room, occupy over 8,500 square feet of space.
The immediate access to restaurants, retail, and convenient parking were key ingredients in Ricardo Bellido’s choice of Atlas Park. As president of Bellido Insurance Brokerage, he believes that these attractive assets are already bringing him new business.
The Offices at Market Plaza at Atlas Park are located at 8000 Cooper Avenue, Glendale, in one of the original brick Atlas Terminal buildings. The Amish Market and Dahlia Florists occupy the ground floor. Other nearby retailers include Blue Tulip (a specialty gift and card store), Chopin Chemists, Rosetta Wines and soon to be opened, The Fair Home Design.
“We want The Shops at Atlas Park to be more than just a typical shopping mall,” said Dante Amenta, leasing representative of A & Co., a division of Atco Properties and Management, Inc., who is handling all the negotiations in-house. We have restaurants, retail stores, a park and now professional offices. The second floor hasn’t been subdivided yet, so we could take tenants as small as 1,000 square feet up to 20,000 square feet,” he said.
