Ollie LaGattuta

Ollie LaGattuta, an original member of the Whitestone Civic Association and honored by the Girl Scouts of America as a hidden heroine for being a positive role model, passed away on May 27.
She was a lifetime member of the American Medical Center in Denver and active in St. Luke’s, Holy Trinity, the Ramblers and the Whitestone Hadassah who honored her as “Ema” (Mother of the year).
Beloved wife of the late Casper, and devoted mother of the late George, Joan and Tony Melita, Susan and Tommy Byrnes. Proud grandmother of Anthony, Elizabeth, Chrystal, and Jackie. Dear sister of Kitty Schreier and sister-in-law of Virginia Bohun. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were handled by Martin A. Gleason Funeral Home in Whitestone. A Mass of Christian burial was held at Holy Trinity R.C. Church. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery.
