The Jewish Child Care Center Association’s (JCCA) Bukharian Teen Lounge held its 2007 Internship closing event on August 16 at the Little White House by the Y in Forest Hills. The event celebrated the accomplishments of the 24 Teen Lounge interns, and organizers presented the teens with certificates of achievement. The JCCA’s Bukharian Teen Lounge is a special after-school program, which assists Jewish, Russian-speaking immigrant youth from the Central Asian part of the former Soviet Union to find substantial summer work experiences. During the celebration, City Councilmember Melinda Katz (back center) spoke to the students and praised their accomplishments.
