A hardy angler is perched at the edge of rain-swollen Golden Pond in Crocheron Park, just minutes after the torrential rains that flooded the entire metro area on Wednesday, July 18, finally let up in Bayside.
Richard Werthwein of Fresh Meadows took a series of back roads to the secluded-looking spot, which is actually just yards away from the Cross Island Parkway, which was turned into a parking lot, as were several other Queens highways and byways.
