Cow busters

A cow suddenly appeared on the streets of Briarwood around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18. A chase of over 2 miles by the authorities, including both police and firefighters ended when the bovine made a turn into a yard at 85-22 144th Street and was captured. It is unclear where the cow might have escaped from and what is going to happen to her now. The last cow to roam free in Astoria in 2000 was sent to an animal sanctuary upstate.
