Heroes honored in Bayside Hills

On Tuesday, September 11, a host of elected officials joined local residents at the Memorial Garden on the mall in Bayside Hills for a sixth anniversary, twilight commemoration of the 9/11 attacks. Here, State Senator Frank Padavan presents the “Flag of Heroes” to Bayside Hills Civic Association President Michael Finer during the memorial service. The special flag lists the names of the heroic police, fire and emergency personnel that sacrificed their lives to save others at the World Trade Center that day.
