Center for Women hosts job fair

Where are the jobs?
New York women will be able to find out at the 20th annual World of Working Women Conference entitled, “Where are the Jobs? & How Do You Get Them?”
Sponsored by Center for the Women of New York, the conference and job fair will serve as an opportunity for employers to pitch themselves to women looking to advance their careers on Friday, October 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Sheraton LaGuardia East Hotel located at 135-20 39th Avenue in Flushing.
Attendees at the job fair will have about three hours to visit the exhibits. They will have the opportunity to speak to recruiters, pick up brochures about the companies, and drop off their resumes.
Schools offering certificate programs will attend.
There will also be a variety of workshops, ranging from resume writing and interview skills, to personal finance and problems with child care.
Dress for Success, an organization that provides professional attire to disadvantaged women, will put on a professional attire fashion show.
Tickets for the conference and job fair will cost five dollars. Admission will be free for students or non-working women. For more information, check the Center’s web site: www.cwny.org.
