Flushing woman tried selling newborn baby!

A Flushing woman has been charged with trying to sell her child for $25,000 to an undercover officer posing as a prospective parent.
Yue Fan Chau, 36, is facing up to seven years in prison if convicted. Chau is facing numerous charges including child abandonment, endangering the welfare of a child and felony violation of the state’s Social Services law. Chau was arrested on Friday, October 5.
According to the Queens District Attorney, Chau allegedly first met the undercover officer on Friday, September 7 in Flushing and indicated that she wanted to sell her unborn child. The two met again on Tuesday, September 25 where Chau provided evidence she was pregnant and payment for the child was discussed again.
On Wednesday, October 3, Chau gave birth to the child at New York Downtown Hospital. She phoned the undercover agent and asked for the spelling of his name and the name he wanted for the baby so she could add them the birth certificate, according to the DA. On October 5, the undercover officer met Chau and gave her a check for $20,000 and $5,000 cash for the baby. Chau said she did not want any further contact with the buyer or her newborn. She was arrested on the spot.
Chau told detectives that her boyfriend had gone back to China and she tried to sell the baby because she needed money, according to the DA.
