A woman was held up on Friday, December 14.
According to police, the victim was walking in the rear parking lot of a bank at 61st Avenue and Springfield Boulevard when the suspect came up behind her and placed an unknown blunt object to her back. He then allegedly struck her with the object before snatching her necklace and the $2,200 she had just withdrawn.
Police have no description of the perp.
High School Locked Down After Bomb Scare
A 16-year-old is in custody after bringing a suspicious package to school.
Francis Lewis High School safety officers removed the package and notified the bomb squad.
Upon examination by detectives, the bag was determined to have PVC pipe and pyrotechnic materials.
