BRONX AA BOYS DIVISION: KENNEDY DOMINATES, BUT WINGS LOOKS FOR COMEBACK

Both schools squared off at the start of the season on November 27, with Kennedy, led by Kadeem Nicholas (18.86 PPG) and Jeffrey Arzu (13.57 PPG) barely holding off the Ronald Baker (12.25 PPG) and Kevin Opoku (12.75 PPG) led Wings team, despite a strong comeback attempt in the 4th quarter, winning 67-64.

Kennedy parlayed the opening day victory with a second-straight win, 68-60, over Truman, before its strongest test to date against Wadleigh ended in a one-point Knights win, 71-70. Wadleigh is considered to be a favorite to win the upcoming AA Division City Championship and the win boosted the confidence of Kennedy, who went on a tear, destroying Clinton, 82-60; FDA, 81-47; and a very strong and playoff hopeful Lehman team, 86-62.

Kennedy has shown a great deal of confidence in its latter wins, apparently looking ahead to the playoffs and while they are sure to receive a playoff seed, the top spot in the Bronx AA Division is not a guarantee, at least not as far as Wings is concerned.
