A local Throggs Neck mom is appalled after collecting money from fellow parents to purchase four teachers of the Greek American Institute, American Express holiday gift cards, only to find out that the cards, purchased at CVS, had no value on them when the teachers tried to use them.
But equal to her shock is their embarrassment.
Grateful to four pre-k teachers at the school, Mary Delatorre, a mother of four, reached out to fellow moms and dads to raise money for holiday gift cards for Aida Avellino, Toni Ragusa, Julie Zoulis and Angela Karamatzanis.
