Despite recent buzz that Pelham Gardens residents would have a greater variety of shopping and dining options at the former A&P site on Gun Hill Road with the coming of Circuit City and three additional buildings, a noncompliance with building and zoning codes has stalled the process for now.
Though the Circuit City opening has not been stalled due to the Department of Buildings, the agency has disapproved proposals for three neighboring buildings at the space at 1750-80 E. Gun Hill Road.
Vinny Prezioso, president of the North East Bronx Association, has stayed on top of the project since day one and remains in contact with contractors and workers at the site.
