State Senator Frank Padavan (right) started a busy Saturday by participating in a five-mile-walk fundraiser for the Queens Centers for Progress (QCP).
The “Walk With Me” event on April 5 began and ended at the group’s headquarters at 81-15 164th Street in Jamaica. Participants made the annual round-trip slog to Kissena Park to support the center’s mission of helping the developmentally disabled.
This year’s walk honored the memory of Christopher Postiglione, a city Department of Environmental Protection worker, who was killed while on the job.
Queens Park Commissioner Dorothy Lewandowski (second left), QCP Executive Director Charles Houston (second right) and QCP officials support the goal (and the banner), before the start of the walk.
