Seek Driver in Fatal Hit-and-Run

The driver who allegedly mowed down a man and injured a woman and her baby is still being sought, according to police.
The accident, which killed Yone Auxilly and injured Janelle Rhodes, occurred as the couple — out on a first date along with Rhodes’ year-old son — left the Green Acres Mall on Friday, May 23.
According to reports, a speeding 2000 Nissan Maxima struck Auxilly, who was killed instantly and dropped the baby.
Rhodes, 22, was taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition. Family members say the tot had just “two scratches,” according to published reports.
The car, police say, is registered to a man from Roosevelt, L.I.
