For the past few months, St. Helen School has worked as one in the fight against breast cancer. In October, sixth grade teacher Mrs. Connelly will participate in the 39-mile, two-day Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. The entire school has supported Connelly and her fundraising efforts through such events as bake sales, a Mother’s Day raffle and a dress-down day in which everyone wore pink. There was also a coin drop in each classroom for students to donate spare change. So far, $2,630 has been raised.
