Great place for seafood

Spring is one of the most beautiful seasons of the year. Its beauty is due in large part to the blooming trees and flowers, their new sprouts adding to the sweet smell of the mornings.
So who’s not going love having lunch or dinner in a restaurant, where the only difference from spring’s sweet smell is that wonderful “smell” that is coming from the delicious specialties being made in the kitchen? This experience is unique to Uncle Peter’s Restaurant with its continental kitchen!
The interior feels 100 percent like spring, from the giant daisies, decorated with Christmas lights, to individual plants set on the tables of the restaurant. In 1987, the restaurant began as a Japanese eatery, sporting grills on top of each table. Those same ovens are still part of Uncle Peter’s decoration.
“The employees from the previous restaurant used to cook on each table. Not the Sushi but other specialties they had. Therefore, when we set up here, the owner liked the oven on top of each table and he decided to leave them there,” said Cristian, a waiter since Uncle Peter’s first opened for business in 1991.
According to Cristian, the restaurant opened in another location in 1991. It then changed its location to Roosevelt Avenue. Then, for personal reasons related to the owner, Ernesto Mendoza, the place was closed for 10 years. It re-opened again in 2001, back where it started on Northern Boulevard. “It was amazing because the old chefs [and staff] came back, including me,” Cristian said.
The cuisine at Uncle Peter’s is continental, featuring an awesome variety of seafood dishes. During the hot weather, dinner at Uncle Peter’s is going to be your best choice. Your meal can start with delectable, crunchy and juicy king crab legs, the perfect appetizer before an entr/e. If it is not enough for you, try a side of grilled calamari, covered with a honey sauce and a bit of chili. Both appetizers can be accompanied with a refreshing Pina Colada.
Do not fill up on appetizers, leave plenty of room for the best part - the penne a la vodka with shrimp. You can order it with chicken instead of the shrimp. Nevertheless, if you want to continue with seafood, you will find many other wonderful selections.
To finish your dining experience, don’t miss the chance to sweeten your palate with an Italian cheesecake, the tiramisu or the flan, which comes with a thick layer of dulce de leche on top.
