State Assemblywoman Catherine Nolan (D-Ridgewood) moved one of her two district offices last weekend from Woodside to a site on Queens Boulevard in Sunnyside.
Nolan, first elected to the state Assembly in 1984, relocated her staff and operations Sunday from 45-25 47th St. in Woodside to her new district office at 41-02 Queens Blvd. in Sunnyside. Nolan's District 37 covers Sunnyside, Ridgewood, Long Island City, Astoria, Woodside and Maspeth.
"Our 47th Street office holds many years of good memories for me and my staff," Nolan said.
The assemblywoman said she will hold an open house at her new office this fall.
Nolan moved her office after her lease ran out at the previous site, a spokeswoman said. A dentist who was sharing the space with the assemblywoman wanted to expand his operations, so Nolan did not renew her lease in order to accommodate him, the spokeswoman said.
Her new office will be located in a recently constructed building on a lot that had been vacant for years after a fire had destroyed a building on the site, Nolan said. The assemblywoman said she has arranged for the MTA Metrocard Bus to stop near the new office on the second Thursday of each month.
The assemblywoman's office phone number will remain 718-784-3194 and she will retain her other district office on Linden Street in Ridgewood.
Diane Balleck will continue to work as Nolan's district manager at the Sunnyside office.
