Special screening

The Free Synagogue of Flushing will present a screening of the acclaimed film, “Making Trouble” on Sunday, September 14, at 2 p.m., at 41-60 Kissena Boulevard, Flushing.
The award-winning documentary tells the story of six of the greatest female comic performers of the last century - Molly Picon, Fanny Brice, Sophie Tucker, Joan Rivers, Gilda Radner and Wendy Wasserstein.
The documentary, hosted by four of today’s funniest women - Judy Gold, Jackie Hoffman, Cory Kahaney, and Jessica Kirson - is billed as the true saga of what it means to be Jewish, female and funny. The 2007 film is a project of the Jewish Women’s Archive, a nonprofit organization.
