Recently, some of the kids from St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children in Bayside were guests of Coach Eric Mangini and the New York Jets as they prepare for the upcoming National Football League season in their summer training camp at Hofstra University in Hempstead, Long Island.
The kids, who are some of the most seriously ill and injured children in the New York region, had a chance to watch and meet many of their NFL heroes during the trip, on Thursday, July 31.
One young fan shown here with Jets’ star quarterback Chad Pennington, made a memory that will last a lifetime.
Earlier this year, Mangini and two of this year’s prized draft picks, Dustin Keller and Erik Ainge visited St. Mary’s in Bayside, as part of a relationship between the team and the hospital, to cheer up the kids.
