Timeline of the case against Anthony Seminerio

April 2000: Seminerio sets up Marc Consulting, a sham consulting firm, through which he took more than $500,000 from clients, including $310,000 from a hospital. (Source: criminal complaint from U.S. attorney in Southern District of Manhattan)

Oct. 17, 2006: Flushing Assemblyman Brian McLaughlin is indicted on federal corruption charges.

September 2007: FBI agents speak to a cooperating witness, believed to be McLaughlin, in the case against Seminerio. The cooperating witness records a meeting with Seminerio Sept. 21, in which Seminerio tells the witness he got the idea to set up Marc Consulting from two unnamed state senators. November 2007: The witness and Seminerio meet again Nov. 15. The witness tells the assemblyman he wants to introduce him to a businessman interested in privatizing probation services. The businessman is an undercover FBI agent. (Source: criminal complaint)

Jan. 17, 2008: Seminerio meets the undercover and the cooperating witness. During the meeting, Seminerio agrees to introduce the undercover to Assemblyman Jeffrion Aubry, the Correction Committee chairman, who could get probation legislation approved. Aubry is not accused of any wrongdoing in the case against Seminerio. (Source: criminal complaint)

Feb. 28, 2008: The undercover sends Seminerio a $10,000 check via FedEx. (Source: criminal complaint).

March 7, 2008: McLaughlin pleads guilty to corruption charges for stealing $2 million from an Electchester Little League, an electrical workers union local's bank account and the New York City Central Labor Council, where he was president.

March 13, 2008: At 10:29 a.m., Seminerio speaks to an unnamed hospital executive, believed to be from Jamaica Hospital, about an Assembly budget bill not being good for the hospital. Seminerio urges the executive to come to Albany, telling him he can get him access to “anybody you want.” (Source: criminal complaint)

Later that day, Seminerio holds a campaign fund-raising dinner at La Bella Vita in Ozone Park, where Jamaica Hospital CEO David Rosen and COO Bruce Flanz are in attendance. Flanz makes a $1,000 contribution to Seminerio's campaign. (Source: state Campaign Finance records)

April 15, 2008: Seminerio and the undercover meet Aubry for lunch at an Albany restaurant. Seminerio does not disclose to Aubry that the undercover is his client. The undercover hands Seminerio a $5,000 check after Aubry leaves and tells the undercover that the check was “none of [Aubry's] business.” (Source: criminal complaint)

June 2008: The undercover tells Seminerio he is interested in investing in brownfield redevelopment projects. Seminerio introduces the undercover to a senator and an assemblyman who handle such legislation. (Source: criminal complaint)

Sept. 10, 2008: Seminerio is arrested on federal honest services mail fraud charges. He surrenders to the FBI.

Sept. 12, 2008: McLaughlin's sentencing is postponed because of probation issues.
