Man arrested after purse theft

According to reports, a man who stole a purse from a car parked in Astoria was apprehended.
Reports identify the suspect as David McKenney, 46. Police say McKenney opened the door of a car at 36th Street and 20th Road and took the purse, which held $250. He allegedly fled, but the victim, who witnessed the crime, called cops.
McKenney has been charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, according to the DA.
