Dress for Success opens larger facility

Dress for Success announced the opening of a new location in Richmond Hill. This latest Queens branch joins Dress for Success Worldwide New York Program. With offices located throughout Manhattan, Bronx, and Queens, the program serves over 4,000 women annually.
The Queens office alone is serving about 50 clients on a weekly basis.
“I am thrilled that we are moving into this great space in Queens,” said Joi Gordon, CEO of Dress for Success Worldwide. “Many more women will now be able to benefit from all our services including suiting, career center and the PWG (Professional Women’s Group),” Gordon added.
The Professional Women’s Group is an association specifically for Dress for Success clients. Women that land a job via Dress for Success are invited to join PWG free of charge.
Once with PWG, they meet monthly to network with one another and discuss topics relating to their career development. Currently, there are two Professional Women’s Group in Queens with a 55 members.
With financial backing from the likes of Home Depot, New York Community Trust, and the Hyde and Watson Foundation, Dress for Success was able to relocate the branch from Jamaica to a larger facility in Richmond Hills.
Female residents of Queens are referred to Dress for Success by nearly 70 partner agencies. More than 75 volunteers are on hand to help clients prepare for their job interviews by helping them select an appropriate suit to giving career advice.
