LITTLE NECK — Police said a team of burglars may have used a fake Con Edison truck to disguise their getaway after pilfering cash and jewels from a 54th Avenue home last Thursday.
Police said burglars ransacked a home on the 246th Street block of 54th Avenue last Thursday between 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m. The owner of the home, out at the time, told police she had seen a suspicious−looking Con Ed truck parked near her home with two Hispanic men sitting inside.
The victim told police in retrospect she does not believe the truck was, in fact, a truck owned by the utility. No arrests have been made and the investigation was ongoing, police said.
