FLUSHING — Police were searching for the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed an Oak Avenue resident last week and fled the scene.

Police said that shortly before 9:30 p.m. last Thursday, 43−year−old Qun Fang Li of 140−40 Oak Ave. was crossing the street near the corner of Kissena Boulevard and Oak Avenue when she was struck by a white Honda Civic traveling north on Kissena Boulevard. Police and EMS officials responded to the scene immediately, but Li died of her injuries before reaching Flushing Hospital shortly after the accident.

Police said after speaking to witnesses at the scene, they determined Li was struck by a white, late model Honda Civic with tinted windows. No arrests had been made and the investigation was ongoing.

Police are asking anyone from the public with information on the accident to call 1−800−577−TIPS. There is a $2,000 reward for anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the driver.

All calls will remain confidential.
