Carrozza’s story about her house on Long Island hard to swallow

Now we know state Assemblywoman Ann Margaret Carrozza (D-Bayside) does not live in Bayside. She represents our community from her residence in Glen Head, L.I. that is, when she goes to Albany.

She has missed 62 percent of the votes. Anyone familiar with the Glen Head community and its high school taxes knows it is made up of permanent residents, not weekenders. The $1.8 million “weekend retreat” story put out by Carrozza is not credible.

She goes on to tell us the Glen Head estate is her husband’s primary residence, but her primary residence is in Bayside. This is lawyer-speak and not credible.

Finally, it is unbelievable someone paying $24,000 per year in property taxes in Glen Head does not have her children in the local, Nassau County school district. Is it believable they would bounce the children back and forth when she returns to Queensi

Carrozza says she will not tell anyone where her children go to school for security reasons, but we do not need to know what school they go to. She should tell us in which county their school is.

Perhaps Carrozza is not doing anything illegal. Our political system has legislators protecting their own so representatives like state Sen. Pedro Espada (D-Bronx) and Carrozza can live in Westchester and Nassau counties with impunity. They can maintain the legal sanction that they live in the district they are representing.

I do not want Carrozza making decisions for me that do not also apply to her, nor do I want her making education decisions for my children that do not apply to her own.

Carrozza should resign or be voted out of office.
