In an effort to discuss issues with more constituents and to highlight the importance of libraries, Senator Joseph Addabbo will be holding office hours on Saturdays in local libraries throughout his district.
“Many of my constituents might be unable to stop in my district office Monday through Friday. The time I am spending at our local libraries gives them an opportunity to see me in their community on the weekend and for me to personally address their concerns. I will also be speaking about the importance of library funding and of its significance in our neighborhoods,” Addabbo said.
The current schedule is as follows:
• Saturday, October 3 at the Middle Village Library, 72-31 Metropolitan Avenue;
• Saturday, October 19 at the North Forest Park Library, 98-27 Metropolitan Avenue;
All times are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The senator intends to continue to hold Saturday office hours in libraries in the district until the end of the year. Additional dates and libraries will be determined.
The senator also noted that his library visits are not to replace his intention of opening a second office in the northern part of his district. Addabbo mentioned that the state is currently negotiating with the landlords on three proposed sites and he is optimistic that a decision on a second office would come soon.
