LIC Woman struck and killed by box truck

LONG ISLAND CITY — A Long Island City woman was killed last week when she was hit while crossing the street, police said.

At 8:05 p.m. Dec. 9, Gloria Zemana, 72, was walking across 44th Drive at 21st Street when she was hit by a box truck turning left. Zemana was pronounced dead at the scene.

The box truck driver remained at the location and is not suspected of any criminality, police said.
