Woman steals cell phone in Rockaways building: DA

ARVERNE — An Arverne woman was arrested Nov. 19 after she allegedly swiped a cell phone accidentally left by a man on a lobby bench, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.

Yolanda Lane, 33, was charged with petit larceny, the DA said.

Police said surveillance tape caught Lane allegedly picking up a black item off the lobby bench at the time and date the man said he left it there, according to the DA.
