Leaders of tomorrow

The newly-elected executive board of the Sacred Heart School Student Council took office recently, without all the hoopla of their New York City Council counterparts.

According to faculty moderator Kathy Kilduff, council members are elected by their mates from each class at the Bayside school – but without real political campaigning. “We don’t want to turn it into a popularity contest,” she said.

The Council then elects their Executive Board. Shown here are (from left) Kathy Kilduff; treasurer Deanna Casanas; vice-president Joshua Vazquez; president Drew Palmer; secretary Richard Conway and faculty moderator Kristen Barongi.
