104th PRECINCT
On Monday, February 1, police responded to a call for a pedestrian struck at the intersection of Gates and Seneca Avenues.
Upon arrival, cops observed that a 67-year-old woman was apparently struck by a yellow school bus while walking in the crosswalk. The school bus, which had no passengers aboard, was traveling northbound on Gates Avenue, and, while making a left turn onto Seneca, hit the victim, identified as Carmen Diaz of Ridgewood. EMS responded and took her to Wyckoff Hospital where she was pronounced dead. An investigation is ongoing.
