RHBA helps with finances

Attendees of the most recent Richmond Hill Block Association (RHBA) meeting learned about lowering their property taxes and possible exemptions, thanks to guest speakers from the New York City Department of Finance (DOF).
Roberto Roman, Jr. and Lance Abrams shared vital information, such as the senior citizen homeowner’s exemption, disabled homeowner’s and veteran’s exemptions. They said that now there is one application for all exemptions and cautioned those in attendance not to ignore lien letters, as these could be a predecessor to foreclosure.
Roman and Abrams said that a lien sale outreach session will be held on March 18 at the Finance Business Center, 144-06 94th Avenue, 1st floor.
“It was very informative,” said Wendy Bowne, RHBA president, who thanked Assemblymember Mike Miller for his role in securing the guest speakers. “He deserves full credit.”

The next meeting of the RHBA will be on Wednesday, February 24 at 8 p.m. A representative for the MTA and Census Bureau will be on hand.
