Winner grabs $3K in groceries

If you’ve ever felt proud about how fast you finished your supermarket shopping, this should humble you.

Flushing resident Dorothy Finkel, the winner of a “10-Minute Shopping Spree” sponsored by Nestlé USA, tore through her local grocery store in the allotted time and finished up with nearly $3,000 worth of foodstuffs.

Finkel visited the Key Food located at 79-15 Main Street the night before her shopping challenge that took place on Thursday, January 14, to scout out the locations of the products she wanted to grab and made sure to only go for products she knew she’d use.

“It was really an exciting day,” she said, adding, “It was an experience of a lifetime.” Finkel said she doesn’t normally enter sweepstakes, and entered just one day before the deadline. She found out about the sweepstakes by browsing a Key Food circular ad online.

In addition to the goodies she scooped up, Finkel received a cartful of Nestlé products, including Lean Cuisine® Entrées, Carnation® Evaporated Milk and Nutritional Drink.

“I need a warehouse to store all these groceries!” Finkel said
