Anh Vu, 21, of 67−37 Selfridge St. in Forest Hills, posted a 2006 Nissan 350−Z on the Web site Craigslist that was sold for parts to the victim, who lives in Illinois, for $5,200 March 3, according to the criminal complaint.
Vu allegedly told the victim the car was being sold for parts because it was not registered or insured, the complaint said.
Vu gave the victim a VIN number for the car, which the victim checked out, and found the car was not reported stolen.
But the car that was delivered to the victim had a different VIN number, which was checked through a Web site and found to be reported stolen Aug. 22 in Connecticut.
Vu was arraigned last Thursday before Queens Criminal Court Judge Ira Margulis on charges of grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, scheme to defraud and unauthorized use of a vehicle, the spokeswoman said.
Vu was released on his own recognizance. His next court date is scheduled for March 15.
