American adding new flights to Madrid

American Airlines will introduce new flights from John F. Kennedy Airport to Madrid on May 1 and is offering customers extra bonus miles and special introductory fare prices.
The non-stop flights will leave JFK daily at 5:25 p.m. starting on May 1 and arrive in Madrid at 7:20 a.m. Beginning on May 2, daily flights will leave Madrid at 10 a.m. and arrive at JFK at 12:20 p.m.
“It is great news that American Airlines has decided to launch a new connection between Madrid and New York, forming a bridge between two great cosmopolitan, dynamic regions,” said Ágeles Alarcó Canosa, the chief executive officer of Tourism Madrid.
The flights will be on a Boeing 757. They will have 16 business class seats and 166 economy cabin seats.
A special offer is being made to AAdvantage Members who book a roundtrip and fly between May 1 and June 30. They will be able to receive 10,000 bonus miles for business class fares and 5,000 bonus miles for economy class fares.
American Airlines is also offering introductory fares of $439 for a roundtrip in the economy class for JFK to Madrid flights that leave Sunday through Thursday and return Monday through Thursday. The fare is $489 for flights that leave between Friday and Saturday and return between Friday and Sunday.
The tickets must be purchased on AA.com and be for flights that leave between May 1 and May 21 and return by June 15. Tickets must also “be purchased at least seven days prior to departure, or within one day of making reservations, but no later than 11:59 p.m. (CDT) April 12.”
The introductory fare rate also requires a Saturday night minimum stay and allows for a 30-day maximum stay.
