BROOKLYN — The body of a young woman with a prosthetic leg reportedly from Astoria was discovered on the tracks of the N line last weekend, but police said they do not believe criminality was involved in her death.
The woman, whose name and age were not released by police, was spotted by a Metropolitan Transportation Authority worker Sunday around 3:30 p.m., police said.
One media outlet reported she was from Astoria, but this could not be independently verified.
The woman’s body was found on the tracks of a southbound N train at the Kings Highway station in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, police said. Her body was half-naked and her prosthetic leg had been knocked off by the train, police said.
But investigators did not believe foul play was involved in the incident. Police said they thought the woman had fallen between two trains.
The MTA would not comment on the incident.
