Man resists arrest after selling marijuana: DA

ROCKAWAY BEACH — A Broad Channel man allegedly resisted arrest and fled the scene after selling marijuana to another man between 11:13 a.m. and 11:27 a.m. May 26, according to the Queens district attorney.

Tasheem Montgomery allegedly sold marijuana to Lawson Harper, who was also arrested in front of 86-10 Rockaway Beach Blvd., according to the DA. After watching Harper put three Ziploc bags of marijuana in Montgomery’s pocket, police recovered it, the DA said.

When Sgt. Robert Borrelli of the 100th Precinct approached Montgomery to put him in handcuffs, Montgomery pushed Borrelli off and ran away, according to the district attorney.

He was caught again and charged with resisting arrest and criminal sale of marijuana, the DA said. Montgomery was released on his own recognizance and will appear again in court July 14.
