Manhattan hot spot opens in Astoria

Manhattan’s hottest burger restaurant – 5 Napkin Burger, the city’s only upscale restaurant devoted to the art of the hamburger – launched its first Queens location, in Astoria, on Wednesday, June 16.

The grand opening party was co-hosted by the Museum of the Moving Image.

Located at 35th Avenue and 36th Street, across from the famous Kaufman Astoria Studios and down the block from Studio Square Beer Garden, this marks the third shop for 5 Napkin.

The namesake 5 Napkin Burger is 10 ounces of fresh ground chuck topped with rosemary aioli, caramelized onions and melted gruyere on a soft white roll.

The full burger lineup includes the all-American bacon cheddar, Italian turkey, veggie, lamb, tuna, Inside Out, burger salad and even a short rib burger for two.

All burgers come with a choice of sides including house-cut French fries, tater tots, creamed spinach or onion rings.

While the burgers may be the headliners, it is the diverse menu of expertly prepared American classics that entices diners to come back night after night.

Vegetarians and carnivores are equally at home with dishes such as sushi maki rolls, matzo ball soup, lobster roll sliders and fish & chips.

The 5 Napkin beverage programs showcases a global selection of 60 wines and 80 beers, 10 signature cocktails, 40 bourbons and a host of decadent milk shakes and floats.
