Water’s Edge’s motto is, "The only thing we overlook is the Manhattan skyline.”
A new page at this historic site has been turned.
There is a new owner, H. Singh, general manager, Joe Scalice, restaurant manager, David Merida as well as chef Jeffery Slade, who previously worked at Daniel and the French Laundry.
Merida worked at La Caravelle, March and Avoce all renowned for their service. And not to be outdone Scalice ran March and La Colombe d’Or for almost two decades.
Their goal is not to have guests for only special occasions, but also for every day pleasurable and reasonably priced meals.
There is a new “Riverside Small Plate Menu” added to their creative, adventuresome prix-fixe lunch and dinner menus.
What could be better than sitting on the outdoor deck overlooking the East River and munching on a Lobster “Hot Dog” or a Little Neck clam pizza or fried calamari with gazpacho broth.
They even came up with a new creative drink menu.
I loved the Blue Martini, a combo of Stoli vodka, blue Curacao and a lemon twist and my husband Stu had the traditional Mojito, Bacardi light rum, fresh mint and lime juice with a splash of soda – Oh My!
There’s even “The Edge” happy hour Monday to Thursday 5 to 7 p.m. where you can enjoy beer, wine and cocktails all at half price.
I couldn’t help but be impressed with each dish. Now you can enjoy the view of Manhattans’ skyscrapers without paying Manhattan’s high prices and enjoy great food!
