Hands off the hydrants

As the temperatures stay near triple digits, don’t even think about opening up the handy fire hydrant on your block for some wet, cool relief.

It is against the law to open a fire hydrant and doing so could cause problems for firefighters and local medical facilities that depend on a certain amount of water pressure.

The best solution is to obtain a spray cap from a local fire station which is less wasteful and produces a safer stream of water for children to play in.
