Grace United Methodist Church held its First Annual International Festival on Saturday, July 17 at 201st Street and Murdock Avenue. The church has a large Caribbean-American and African-American congregation. Congregants set up tables with food from all the Caribbean countries.
Assemblymember William Scarborough, carrying a flag from Trinidad, the homeland of his wife, sampled food and drank a freshly-made ginger drink from Antigua.
At the International Festival were Scarborough (sixth from right); Pastor Harold Andrews (seventh from right); Cynthia Reid, Chair of Board of Trustees (ninth from right); Victoria Bigby, Festival Committee Chair (tenth from right); and church board members in front of the church.
