Musicians just got luckier.
Center Stage Music at 1840 Newbridge Road in Bellmore offers a number of services for musicians and anyone interested in music. Opened since January, it’s run by music lover ToniAnn Licatesi with her husband Joe, a self-taught musician who has been involved in the music industry for 35 years. After years playing bass in the Italian wedding circuit, Licatesi was injured and is unable to play professionally, but loves being around music and musicians.
Center Stage Music offers PA, lighting and equipment rentals, sales, repairs and rehearsal space. They specialize in buying, selling and trading new and used gear. They carry brand name instruments, amplifiers, pedals, processors, recording equipment, monitors, mixing boards, guitar strings, drum heads and wind instrument accessories.
“We offer big savings. I wouldn’t sell you something you don’t need because I don’t want to waste your money,” said Licatesi.
Center Stage does setups, sound reinforcement and professional installations to balance speakers with power supplies in businesses, bars and clubs. Professional advice is available, and equipment can be rented on a monthly basis.
“We are very reliable. If I give you my word, you can be sure the job is done well,” Licatesi said.
Music lessons will begin in September, with lessons for vocals, keyboards, piano and wind instruments to students between the ages of 10 and 76. Half-hour long individualized private lessons cost $30 and children are under camera surveillance with window access to keep their parents’ minds at ease.
There are two rehearsal spaces for rent by the hour, equipped with ProTools 5.0 Surround Sound and leading edge equipment and state-of-the-art technology. You can speak through the microphone and a technician can come in to assist or fix whatever you need. Center Stage partners with Noe1 Studios next door, managed by musician and Sound Engineer Scott McIntosh. Digital recording facilities are available to remix, remaster and create your own professional demo.
“If you come in today without buying anything, I’ll still talk to you and give you personal attention, tell you to come back tomorrow and you’ll get the same level of attention,” Licatesi said.
