Flushing landmark – Leiser’s Wines and Liquors

Open since 1947, family owned and operated Leiser’s Wines and Liquors has been serving the Flushing community for over 60 years. The 5,000-square-foot space at 41-30 162nd Street offers free parking and is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Their draw is having the best prices and biggest selection in Queens.

“We don’t accept coupons or case discounts, we just offer the same low prices all year long,” said Eric Leiser.

Leiser’s Wines and Liquors carries over 6,000 different items in stock. Anything they don’t carry can be specially ordered on request. Gift certificates are available and have no expiration date.

Some of the best sellers at Leiser’s include Johnny Walker, Absolut, Grey Goose, Bacardi, Gato Negro and Yellow Tail wine. There is also a huge selection of Soju, a Korean spirit made with rice or potatoes.

The knowledgeable sales staff at Leiser’s tries to get to know their customers and will answer any questions you may have, and offer recommendations. They all have an expertise in wine and one employee even has a master’s in wine.

Numerous health studies suggest that moderate wine consumption may be good for your health. Red wine in particular is filled with antioxidants and associated with better cardiovascular health, lower risks of heart attacks and strokes, memory loss prevention and boosting overall immunity.

The continued success of Leiser’s Wines and Liquors can be attributed to their low markdowns — and Leiser marks the price of liquor down as low as they can go. Over 4,000 items are featured at low markup, and their always increasing their selection based on what customers want.

“All our customers become regulars once they see our prices,” Leiser said.

Leiser says he hopes to start doing deliveries and Internet sales in the near future.

Until then, call them at 718-359-3106. Stop in to take advantage of Leiser’s everyday low prices or check out their web site www.leisersliquors.com.
