It seems relief cannot come soon enough for the residents of Broad Channel, who were forced to dry out after two days of rain this past weekend.
In May, a $24 million allocation by Borough President Helen Marshall moved a project slated for 2015 to the fiscal year beginning July. The monies came from the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the project was set to begin at West 12th Road, the lowest lying area.
However, in August the DOT informed residents the help would once again be delayed, though Marshall has been reported to say the project will be completed before 2015.
