FAR ROCKAWAY — A Far Rockaway man has been charged in connection with a string of stolen Ford Econolines, police said.
Members of the Auto Crime Division Major Case Unit conducted a case takedown Oct. 6 at about 11:10 a.m. regarding the string of stolen vans, police said.
The vans were stolen from New York City and taken to an Island Park, L.I., salvage yard to be scrapped for metal, according to police.
Jason Kortbawi, 25, was charged with 14 counts of criminal possession of stolen property and 14 counts of unauthorized use of a vehicle in connection with the spree, police said.
