As a lifelong Astoria resident, I am very concerned about the proposed remapping of 36th street. The proposal would close the street to both traffic and to the public in order to expand Kaufman studios.
This proposal would only increase the amount of traffic in the area and make the parking situation in the area worse.
In addition, the proposal would remap a public street for the sole purpose of helping a private entity and serves no public purpose. I encourage Community Board 1 to oppose this project.
