KEW GARDENS — A man has been making bomb threats in subways and the authorities were asking the public for help in catching him.

The suspect, described as a white man between 18 to 20 years old ranging 5 feet 3 to 5 feet 5 tall, called 911 Sept. 14 around 5:45 p.m. and claimed there was a bomb in the bathroom in the mezzanine level of the Union Turnpike subway station, police said.

Fifteen minutes later, he called 911 again and claimed there was a bomb at the Roosevelt Avenue subway station, according to investigators.

Officers inspected both stations and found no suspicious materials, police said.
