Martin Luther honors alumni trio

Martin Luther High School (MLHS) recently honored three graduates with the Alumni of the Year Award at the school’s 50th Anniversary Campaign Kickoff.

Diane Stahl, who has lived in the Ridgewood-Glendale area all her life and was voted LSA Teacher of the Year in 1985, is presently teaching reading and language arts in grades 5 through 8 at St. John’s in Glendale.

Steven T. Jones, Jr. is a certified public accountant who, after working with the professional services firm Deloitte & Touché, became the Chief Financial Officer of Project Renewal, Inc., a social services agency serving the homeless men and women of New York City with housing, medical care and employment. In 2008, he became the first president of the newly- formed Martin Luther High School Foundation and continues to serve it in that capacity.

David Daraio attended Martin Luther from 1990-1994 and is currently Marketing Director and Assistant Vice President for Maspeth Federal Savings and a Treasurer for the Maspeth Chamber of Commerce.

“We’re proud to honor each of these remarkable individuals as our Alumni of the Year,” said MLS Head of School Randal Gast. “They have all demonstrated unselfish and untiring service to Christ and His Church, each lives God’s call to share His amazing love with others, and each demonstrate excellence in their chosen profession.”
