Beggar beats and robs man of valuables: Post

FLUSHING — A man in Flushing was beaten and robbed by a beggar wielding a knife at the intersection of 40th Road and Prince Street in Flushing Oct. 29 after refusing to give the beggar $5, the New York Post reported.

The beggar, 47-year-old Gregory Nelms, punched the man in the face and head, then picked his wallet, cash and cellphone before being found by the police, the Post said.

Nelms was charged with robbery, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, The Post said.
