NEA Jazz Masters Concert

An NEA Jazz Masters Concert will be held at Flushing Town Hall, located at 137-35 Northern Boulevard, at 8 p.m. on Friday, November 19.
The concert will pay tribute to Benny Powell. It will feature saxophonist Jimmy Heath, pianist Barry Harris, guitarist Jim Hall, trombonist Curtis Fuller, bassist David Wong and drummer Tootie Heath.
Tickets are $40 or $32 for members and $20 for students with ID. Ticket packages are also available.

‘The Lion in Winter’

E Phoenix Idealis Theater, Inc. will open its production of “The Lion in Winter” at The Poppenhusen Institute, located at 114-04 14th Road in College Point, at 8 p.m. on Friday, November 19.
There will be additional performances at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 20 and Saturday, November 27 and at 8 p.m. on Friday, November 26.
Tickets are $14 or $9 for seniors and students.

The Langston Hughes Library, located at 100-01 Northern Boulevard in Corona, will host an author talk and book signing with Andrew P. Jackson at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 20.
Jackson is the author of Queens Notes: Facts About the Forgotten Borough of Queens, NY.

Former Monkees member Davy Hones will perform at the Queensborough Performing Arts Center, located at 222-05 56th Avenue in Bayside, at 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 20.
Jones will perform Monkees hits like “I’m a Believer,” “Steppin’ Stone,” “Daydream Believer,” “Last Train to Clarksville” and “Pleasant Valley Sunday.”
Tickets are $45, $40 and $35.
